Where the Crawdads Sing (2022)

Cast: Daisy Edgar Jones (Kya), Jojo Regina (little Kya)

This is another masterpiece of Daisy Edgar Jones, As I have already talked about how  her performance was in Normal People and I was convinced that there can not be anything like this but I was surprised after watching this movie. The most surprising part was that its genre was crime but it felt like something else entirely. I was a masterpiece about love, survival and letting go of things, standing up for self.

Little Kya:

She is unbelievable. Her emotions and her character was outstanding. Acting-wise it was 10/10. She portrayed how she struggled and evolved in her little nest called Marsh. Her decision for not leaving the place, instead adapting and learning by staying there was the best decision she had made. It shows how convicted she was in her decision from the childhood. She was a wildling and instead of blaming others, she accepted everything, to come up something like this on your owns, requires a lots of experience in life, but to imagine how could someone of age 8 could have known this, answers the question itself that she has seen too much, experienced too much in her life.

Kya:

I cannot stop admiring her about her wonderful performance. Now when it comes to acceptance and rejection, I cannot imagine how painful it must have been for her but she did divert that pain into something she was very good at, She relied on Mother nature and published some of the marvellous work of her own. I must appreciate her boyfriend for showing her the path. But more importantly how she reacted what life threw at her, is quite remarkable. Hates off Kya.

I learned so many things from this movie but not all the lessons are generated from it yet, I think I will keep the raw data and the lessons will come as needed. But one thing I noticed is that, It’s not loneliness that kills people, it’s a fear of it. If you have decided to live at one place and your gut is really sure of it then there is no reason to think what other people are saying about it. Just go with your gut.
