The impression, not the money

As I sit on an Indigo flight from Ahmedabad to Pune, I reflect on my recent journey. This flight is a connecting one from Delhi, where I attended the ████████ conference. Let me share the part of the story that truly matters. On my way back to the airport, I met up with ████████ , a friend I had gotten to know a few months ago. I invited him to join us in our cab, as he was about to book another one for himself, which would have cost him more since he was alone. Also he was heading to the different terminal so we prioritised his because his flight was leaving earlier. When we arrived at the airport, ████████ generously paid the entire cab fare. I split the total cost into three and paid two-thirds right away. ████████ insisted on splitting it evenly, but I believe it’s not just about the money; it’s about the impression you leave. How you make others feel is crucial. It defines your character and values, and one day, it will come back to you, multiplied by all the kindness you’ve shown although the mistake here would have been if you keep waiting for that kindness to come back to you, that is not how it works
